The key to winning the game of life isn't money, a prestigious degree, or even keeping up with the Kardashians. The latest science reveals that the key is High Status--the secret sauce that has enabled the world's most successful people to achieve the life of their dreams in no time at all.

Higher Status The New Science of Success and Achievement Jason Capital 9781619615991 Books

Jason writes pretty early on in this book with "I get a lot of labels thrown at me-teacher,guru, marketer, speaker. Others just call me a world-class salesman with nothing to offer." Count me in with the latter sentence. This book is supposed to be the book version of his "Status" program. At one point I remember that program in particular was being sold for 1000 dollars online. I hope that program wasn't nearly as underwhelming as this book is.

Basically, he's looked at the Definitive Book of Body Language and Amy Cuddy. Additionally, he's rather well versed in reading about millionaires and billionaires high status. He doesn't give much, if any, annotation to many of the stories he recounts for these historical figures. I knew about many of them because I'm reasonably well read myself. However to the average reader, you would hope for some footnotes. His body language ideas are not new by any means and could be found either in the book listed above or online. That being said, he does have a decent exercise regarding vocal tonality I hadn't seen before and the book is written fairly well.

But perhaps the greatest flaw in Higher Status is his chapter on High-Status Truth. The chapter isn't bad for what it tells but for what it leaves out. On Joe Rogan's podcast with Dan Pena, Pena reveals that Jason Capital is not the author's name and that it is a big secret. Well if you just do a little digging his actual name is likely, unless he's since changed it, Alex Maroko. How's that for high status honesty? Why does he hide this? For marketing. But to me, what's very revealing is that he chooses "Jason Capital" of all names. My own personal theory? He wants to remind himself everyday that hes "chasing capital" and never forget it.

That he's created a very devoted following selling mostly a rehash of existing information for top dollar is remarkable to me. To that end, the paperback version of this book is 19.95!

If you want a MUCH better book regarding relationships and body language read Mark Manson's Models for half the price.

Higher Status The New Science of Success and Achievement Jason Capital 9781619615991 Books Reviews

Being high status just makes everything better... I am even more productive at work from simply adapting a high status posture. I truly believe your mind operates better in high status mode. If you're on the ropes about this, I think it is important to understand that high status is not about trying to one up everyone else, or acting like you are above everyone else. It is simply a way of being. A way of being more open, and communicating with others in a more powerful, yet honest manner. A big eye opener for me was realizing that being high status is the best thing you could do, not just for yourself, but for others as well because it creates value. Everything you do as a high status person is seen as more valuable, and is appreciated more. Imagine, for a moment, you're walking down the street and a homeless guy smiles at you as you walk by. Now imagine, for another moment, you're walking down the street and the President, or another high status individual smiles at you as you walk by. Sure, receiving a smile from anyone is always nice but chances are that you will feel happier, special even, if it came from someone of high status. Now we can say that the world shouldn't be this way and complain about it, with good reason, or we can decide to become high status and make an even greater impact on the world for the better. Make it happen! Jason Capital does a wonderful job at leading you through this transformation, and you will prob not find anything more practical than this in the realm of status. You're welcome ;) WARNING You may find yourself falling in love with this guy, even if you're straight... tread carefully.
This is a book written by a 28 year old heavily immersed in the "seduction comnunity".
No great hero's really ever tried to be high status. They became so from going towards objectives that held value you to them.
I have NEVER met a truly high status person who actually thinks about and assigns much importance to how the walk/talk etc. And if they do, it is not because they want to be higher status. It is for a different objective. For instance. Presenting oneself clearly and professionally in a debate therefore there are most odds of your opinions being heard and respected. Or becoming strong and focused amidst a crises. The approach and philosophy of this book is not one that will create any great people. Please read this book and see it's fundamental paradox. He's trying to ascribe a massive amount of value to status. Then hes trying to tell people how to ACT high status. Not BE. But ACT. This non sense has been spoken of numerous times before. There are better sources for this anyways. How about instead of acting high status you instead dedicate your life to a purpose greater than yourself and you will naturally and authentically portray behaviors that are high status. High status is not an end. And it is not a means either. It's infact a natural result of a multitude of factors. The greatest being a purpose that is greater than your self interest and personal pursuit of pleasure. That is the character of the writer in this book. A very self absorbed, thoughtless young man. The information in this book is correct. It's the mindset and approach in it that will lead you astray to the insecure world of PUA's that don't have the qualities of great men but rather personify them like psychopaths.
Sorry for the harsh review. This is nothing against Jason. I've never met the guy. But I'm tired of finding these types of books coming out in such abundance today. Massive waste of time.
